In contrast to this experience, the new gym that I've recently joined has done nothing but communicate with me and make sure I'm getting plugged in to the right people and activities in their gym community. The experience has been night and day more positive, which is probably amplifying the distaste I have for the disengagement I've experienced at this Gold's location.
Great staff working there and a great training atmosphere. The machines and weights are decent, but it is definitely for weight trainers!
1st thing, Just cancel your membership when you are moving. The staff at this branch will suggest you can continue your membership but it is just false. When you go to gym in other state, they will tell you have to open a new account, then you'd be in a soup.
I love working out but can't wait to get out of contract because of this place alone lots of slamming weight jug heads and then I make one complaint about towels not being refilled next thing ya know it's like I am the emperor I have a guy that constantly every day vacuums around me to the point where I thought he was invading my space so I complain and management did nothing to just keep this guy away from me while I workout something easy ya know but not for these people so this is why I would never suggest this gym to anyone I will actually do the exact opposite go for club fit that's where wife and I will be as soon as contract is up
If you are looking for a facility that is mostly well-kept, with a variety of equipment, then Gold's checks those boxes. However, for a community and welcoming place where you can find accountability and support in your workout goals I don't recommend it.
Probably one of the best gyms I have worked out at ever and I do travel a lot. I was only going to be in town for a limited time spoke with general manager Jerry and he worked with my schedule and cut the fair deal with me was very appreciated! Great gym, equipment and staff. Definitely recommend to anyone hands down!
I joined this location upon relocation to the area in fall 2016. I explained to the membership representative that I was new to the area and looking forward to connecting with this gym community and getting back into my workout routine which had been a struggle since taking a new career with demanding travel. The follow up of the membership rep was lacking.
Finally in fall 2017, I stopped by the desk to inform management I was unfortunately interested in cancelling my membership due to upcoming relocation to a different city. Rather than directing me to the appropriate person to cancel the account as I requested, the staff member encouraged me to look in my new neighborhood for a Gold's Gym I could transfer my membership to. I left, got moved up to the new neighborhood a few hundred miles away, and eventually found there is not a Gold's located near me.. I called this location to once again request my membership be cancelled. The person who took my information ensured a manager would be in contact with me. I did not hear any communication in the next couple weeks.
Next, I received an email a few months into my membership from Ryan, asking me about my experience so far, how my workout routine has been, and how I could have a better experience. I replied to Ryan admitting that I would enjoy some community and accountability. I was excited to have heard from him, and thought this would lead to more engagement with the Gold's facility. It did not. Even after I expressed difficulty being consistent with my routine and welcoming support/input, I heard nothing back in return.
Today I saw that my account was charged for my membership still. I called to dispute. Jill informed me this is policy that upon cancellation, it's a "30 day notice." I understand that under normal circumstances, but feel betrayed as I tried cancelling and had terrible communication from Gold's on all occasions. I tried calmly and politely disputing the issue over the phone. As I waited for her to take the opportunity to amend a situation with an unsatisfied customer (me) there was a long silence before she hung up the phone.
I was charged three times before I could cancel my membership. I couldn't even use the gym till end date since I moved. Horrible experience!
Extremely disappointed with the level of service here.
