With a scheduled appointment I was in and out. The staff are nice and very professional.
Details: I went there on Jan. 1, because I had a fever that wouldn't break and a sore throat for 5 days. I was concerned I might have Strep throat, and didn't want to wait for the rest of the holiday weekend before getting meds. We have been to this facility before (July 2014) and were billed correctly as an Urgent care, about a $75 bill. This time, I got a statement for $300 AFTER the insurance adjustment, for essentially the same care.
THIS IS AN EMERGENCY ROOM - NOT an Urgent Care. They bill as an emergency room, so you might as well go to the hospital. There is no benefit to Urgent Care over emergency room except more reasonable prices.
The care my daughter received was very good. However, THIS IS BILLED AS AN EMERGENCY ROOM NOT AN URGENT CARE. Even though it says Urgent Care on the building it is considered by SSM to be an emergency room. So I was billed for an emergency room visit not an urgent care visit. I called to complain but it changed nothing.
$459 for a strep test. If you need one go to the emergency room, you'll probably pay less.
I've contacted them on the off chance that this was merely a mistake, and I will update if that turns out to be the case.
Don't waste your time. You don't get to see a real Dr and then they try to bill you more than you are suppose to pay. I had the SAME experience as the person below me reviewed about. As if they can't change the codes to separate ER and Urgent. Obviously they are making a ton of money by mis-coding your Dr. visit. Scammers.
